Lloyd Roach for Atlantic Division Vice Director

I am Lloyd B. Roach, K3QNT, and I'm running for Vice Director of the ARRL Atlantic Division.

  • I was born and reared in the Philadelphia area, and have been licensed continuously since 1961.  My interest in Ham Radio became the genesis of my professional career in commercial radio.

  • I was the VP/General Manager of four FM stations in Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago and Harrisburg.

  • Later, I owned & operated twelve AM & FM stations in the Delaware Valley, Harrisburg, Wyoming Valley and the Lower Tier of New York State.

  • I served in the U.S. Navy Amphibious Forces as Shipboard Radioman and participated in ARES-RACES activities from the 1964 Alaska Earthquake as K3QNT/MM to the present as RACES Officer for Bedford County Department of Emergency Services.

  • I am a Life Member of the ARRL and have held various leadership positions in both the Western PA and Eastern PA Sections.

  • I retired from business in 2013 and with my XYL, Jacquie moved to Bedford County, PA, where I serve as Secretary of the Bedford County Amateur Radio Society.

  • I hold an Amateur Extra Class, several commercial licenses and three certifications from the Society of Broadcast Engineers. In 2003, I was elected "Fellow" of the Radio Club of America.

  • Now in its 103rd year of service, the ARRL needs immediate change and modernization. While retaining time-proven traditions, the League needs to embrace the convergence of traditional radio and cyberspace if the enterprise plans to thrive.

  • I ask for your support and Vote as Vice-Director of the Atlantic Division.
